Wednesday morning went to BBOWT College Lake to try and see
the 50+ snipe that have been seen there, couldn't find then until they
showed themselves by flying around for a few minutes then landed and
disappeared into the marsh again.
Thursday morning went to find the 35 mandarins at The Wides on the canal at Wendover, found a few nestled amongst the willows.
Along with a friendly moorhen.
At home a jay.
Plus a kestrel briefly visited the garden.
I had a front row view of a male sparrowhawk searching the viburnum where birds had fled from the feeders when it swooped in. It left empty handed.
A short walk after lunch, watched a treecreeper constantly searching for food, working its way up the trunk to the top then flying down onto the next tree and starting up again.
