29th January..... Goldeneye.

A late afternoon walk around Wilstone reservoir, now full with water spilling down the overflow. No exposed mud for waders but good numbers of waterfowl and gulls.
Highlight was a male goldeneye.
Next morning in the sunshine, enjoyed a good walk along the Misbourne which was also full and flowing well on the stretch between Little Missenden and Shardeloes.
A mistle thrush was feeding and guarding his mistletoe berries when we set off and was in the same place, still on guard on our way back.
