Dear Prime Minister again. (he may reply if I keep on).

Dear Prime Minister,
I recently wrote to you about my concerns of HS2’s impact on the environment.
Thing is it’s not only the environment that’s going to suffer, there’s Human suffering as well, which I believe is being totally ignored. People are suffering physically, mentally & financially. It’s happening within miles of your country residence at Chequers, farmers are not receiving their compensation payments & are having to resort to blocking field gateways in order to obtain them, one unfortunate farmer just recently received his eviction papers & within half an hour suffered a Stroke, luckily he’s on the mend, but goodness knows what will happen when he finally has to say goodbye to the farm which has been his life…… do you really want this sort of thing on your conscience.
As for the financial cost of stopping the project, which is supposedly 12 Billion pounds according to the various reports, HS2 own so much property/land, time that’s sold off/redeveloped that figure will be much reduced. Surely it’s better to call a halt now, saving untold Billions as no one can predict the final cost, spend the Billions saved evenly across the nation on more affordable & less destructive projects.

I look forward to hearing your reply.

Yours Sincerely
Don Stone.
