nd - 8th September.

nd  at least 22 House Martins low around & above our house at 6-40pm for 15 minutes, then most flew off south leaving 8 behind. It's the 3rd time in the last 4 evenings this behaviour has happened, all a bit strange as we only have one nest occupied, & they're rearing young; at 7-05pm 5 Swallows flew through heading south.
rd Greenshank flew over calling at 7-05pm; 17 House Martins above the house at 7-30pm. Tawny Owl calling at 8-30pm. Dead Badger on the Missenden Road into Chesham.
th a migrant Chiffchaff  trying it's best to sing in the garden early morning. 17 House Martins  above the house at 7-15pm.
th Chiffchaff again. 33 House Martins this evening, are they all the local birds gathering ready for the big migration south or are they migrants already on their way? Dead House Martin in neighbouring driveway, where our or another Toad put in an appearance last night. Muntjac barking at night.

th Chiffchaff in the garden where I'm working at Ley Hill. Toad back on our drive again tonight.

th 8 Swallows flew through south-east at 7-30am. At last at the 7th time of asking Chesham United get the win they deserve 2-1, in the 1st qualifying round of the F.A. Cup, pocketing £6,000 in prize money, during the latter stages of the 2nd half c50 House Martins passed over heading south. 21 House Martins drifted over south at 6-30pm.
