Autumn Fruits.

Apple Pie & Crumbles.
Try adding a Vanilla pod & Cinnamon stick to the usual mix for added flavour or even Elder flower Syrup, so advises my favourite chef, who's off to start work at a country house hotel in deepest Wales.

Horse Chestnuts. Don't eat these, just play Conkers, if the kill joy's let you.

Sloes. Add them to your Gin.

Hawthorn. Strictly for the birds.

A nice wild hedge full of berries, (it's our front hedge) enjoyed by birds, particularly Bullfinches which feed on the shrivelled up berries in the winter & passing Humans, who I guess take them home for crumbles.
